EC shows are exciting events, open to the public all day, where the cats can be looked after by their owners in decorated pens. The Judges assess the exhibits publicly in a reserved part of the hall and write a full report on each; anyone can watch and listen to their comments.
.Exhibits are entered according to breed, colour and pattern, sex and age. They are classified in order of merit in each class.
Adult cats are eligible for titles ranging from Champion/Premier to Grand European Champion/Premier. All international titles are recognised for pedigree cats.
Part-pedigree and Non-pedigree cats compete among themselves.and adults are eligible for EC special titles ranging from EC Premier to EC Grand European Premier.
Held throughout the country, most Championship shows have multi-ring judging (with a maximum of 3) which enables an adult cat to become a Champion/Premier at ONE show. At higher levels, up to 3 certificates could be gained.
Best of Variety may be awarded to the best entire adult or/and kitten within a breed variety (some exhibitors may equate this with Best of Breed).
Neuters compete among themselves; so do Household Pets.
Each Judge nominates his/her Best Cat, Best Kitten and Best Neuter for presentation to the Best in Show Panel which selects the Best in Show Cat, Best in Show Kitten and Best Neuter in Show.
