EC is committed to the promotion and the welfare of all domestic cats  by

registering and showing Pedigree, Part-pedigree and Non-pedigrees, 

maintaining a Cattery Name register,  

encouraging responsible breeding of established breeds,

establishing requirements for new breeds,

 EC recognises all Breeds, Varieties, Colours & Patterns of Pedigree cats recognised by International Official organisations and their certified International pedigrees

.The 4 breed categories are:

Category I        Persian & Exotic (Longhair)

Category II       Semi-Longhair

Category III      Shorthair (including Siamese & Oriental)

Category IV     Unrecognised breeds

 Breeding restrictions apply when there is a proven detrimental effect on the health of cats.. Veterinary Rules are in line with those of other organisations and strictly adhered to.
